Core Modules
Master these three areas and you'll be better protected than the vast majority of internet users in the UK.
Awareness
Always check the sender's email address — not just the display name. Hover over links before clicking to see where they actually lead.
Never click links in unexpected texts or emails claiming to be from your bank, HMRC, or Royal Mail. When in doubt, type the website address yourself.
Authentication
Don't use complex characters you can't remember. Use three random words joined together — for example, Blue-Axe-Secure. Long beats complicated, every time.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on every account that offers it. This single step blocks the majority of unauthorised logins, even if your password is compromised.
Maintenance
Updates are not optional. Every update patches security vulnerabilities — holes that hackers actively exploit within hours of discovery.
Enable automatic updates on your phone, laptop, and all installed apps. An out-of-date device is an open door for cybercriminals. This includes your router and smart home devices.
Test Yourself
Three questions, instant feedback. Find out how sharp your cyber instincts really are.
Banks never ask for your PIN by email, text, or phone — under any circumstances whatsoever.
Pop-up virus warnings are almost always scams. Close your browser; do not call the number shown.
Three random words beat complex passwords. Blue-Axe-Secure is far stronger than P@ssw0rd1!
